Little Toro's Learn to Skate

Little Toro's Learn to Skate is brought to you by the Birmingham Bulls and Pelham Hockey.   This course will offer basic skating skills before entering our Learn to Play Program.  Players graduating the Little Toro's program will be granted 1 FREE ticket to a Bulls game.

Little Toro’s and Learn to Play are both year round Eight Week programs.

Session Day/Time:

Thursday at 6:45-7:45pm

Price Includes:

  • 8 classes. 1 per week 
  • Skate rentals.
  • Helmet (limited supply).
  • Gloves (limited supply).
  • Stick.

Bringing you own equipment is encouraged.

STEP 1

Little Toro’s

Learn to Skate Program

In this introductory Future Bulls Program, children will learn the basic skating skills such as two-foot glides, forward swizzles and backwards swizzles, ALL of which will prepare them for Learn to Play.

 Little Toro’s is geared for ages 4-17.

The program will be split up into 3 courses: Basic 1, Basic 2 and Basic 3. You will need to pass each class before graduating to Learn to Play.

Required Equipment:

Helmet and Gloves (both are provided but if you have your own, you’re encouraged to bring those)

Step 2

Learn to Play

Youth Learn to play introduces players to basic skating, puck handling and shooting skills to the more advanced skills including small area games to help reinforce these techniques before entering league play.

Required Equipment:

Helmet, Gloves and a stick (all are provided but if you have your own, you’re encouraged to bring those)

Recommended Equipment:

Elbow Pads, Shin Pads, Pants, Shoulder Pads, Jock Shorts, Mouth Guard and a Neck Guard

Step 3

League Play

After you graduate from the Learn to Play Program, you’re now eligible to register for the Pelham Youth Hockey League (PYHL) and other camps/clinics.

Required Equipment:

 Fully geared from head to toe (Elbow Pads, Shin Pads, Pants, Shoulder Pads, Jock Shorts, Mouth Guard and a Neck Guard).

  Rentals such as skates and stick will also be discontinued.

Terms and Conditions

  • All skaters must be current members of USA Hockey. Please register on usahockey.com
  • Registration for any program can be found on pelhamhockey.net
  • Multi-member discounts are available.
  • The Pelham Civic Complex reserves the right to change or cancel any time or day of class.
  • Late entries will receive a pro-rated cost.
  • After week 4, there will be no new registrants.
  • A parent or guardian of all skaters under 17 must be present in the rink at all times.
  • All equipment borrowed must be returned upon graduation.
